New Life Church held its initial worship service on December 7, 1975 at the Fairview Township Building in New Cumberland, PA. The naming of "New Life" was influenced by the birth of the church and the anticipated “new life” of the first child of founding pastor, Ronnie Riggins and his wife Beverly. "New Life" also indicates what is experienced through a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
In February 1976, the church was officially organized with 51 charter members. The church then moved to Hillside Elementary School in May 1976. New Life continued to meet at the school until a new church building could be constructed.
In April 1977, the church purchased 11 acres in Fairview Township, York County and began construction of a new building. About two years later, in July 1979, construction of the sanctuary was completed and the church moved to its present location.
As the membership grew and church ministries continued to increase, Pastor Mike Shuff joined the staff as Associate Pastor in 1986. As a result of additional growth, in 1995 the sanctuary was enlarged and an addition for the Christian Education and Fellowship Building was completed in 1995.
In 2011, the church embarked on a three year campaign to raise funds for a Family Life Center which would enable expansion of numerous ministries and address growing congregation and community needs. The Family Life Center consists of a full size gymnasium, a commercial kitchen, a larger fellowship area called The Gathering Place and additional classrooms.
Geographically, our ministry encompasses the New Cumberland Borough, Fairview and Newberry Townships, Etters, Lewisberry and other communities in Cumberland, Dauphin and York Counties. Pastor Ronnie Riggins has continued to serve as Senior Pastor since 1975 and Pastor Mike Shuff served as Associate Pastor from 1986 through January 2018.
